What Apps do I have on my phone?

Updated: Feb 23, 2021

Hey! Tara here, and thanks for checking out my blog. I update every Tuesday with posts about studying tips, advice and I also talk about productivity and organisation too. If you want to keep up to date with my latest blog posts I’d love it if you subscribed to this blog.

For today’s post I thought I would introduce you to some apps that I think are great for uni. I’ve used most of these through all of my undergrad, and some of them since Sixth Form.

  1. Timetable I’ve went into more detail about this app on my post here, but again, this app is wonderful for being able to see what classes I have, when and where.

  2. Google Calendar Again, more detail in this post here, but Google Calendar is perfect for organisation. I put in appointments, classes, times I’m going to be with my partner and work. Everything is there, clearly, for me to see.

  3. Your uni’s app (if they have one) I highly recommend downloading it. My uni has bus timetables, news, a link to the place that lecturers put up the powerpoints/ additional information and way more.

  4. OneNote Where I keep my class notes. If I’m working on essays the different ideas will all be collected in that  and I find it so useful to have on my phone if I want to do some work on the bus to uni.

  5. Google Sheets I love, love, love this app. I use Sheets so often on my computer to help me organise and keep track of everything.  If I’m planning an essay 9/10 times I will use this to help me do it.

  6. Google Docs For backing up essays. I can use this to work on them if OneNote isn’t updating for whatever reason or if I want to send notes to classmates more easily.

  7. Google Drive To manage those above.

  8. Rocketbook I bought the Everlast notebook to bring to class with me to take notes or have somewhere to write the odd bits of information that came into my head that I didn’t want to spend class time searching. The app scans the pages in the notebook and sends them to my OneNote.

  9. Writeometer Do you ever start writing an essay and worry that you’re writing pace is too slow, or keep forgetting how many words you’ve written (if you break it into several parts like I do)? Well this is the app for you. just simply add however many words you’ve written and it’ll give you a predicted finish date, as well as saying if you’re on track.

  10. Habitica The link to my post on Habitica is above, that explains it far better but I like having a good morning and evening routine and this app helps so much with that

  11. Amazon Kindle Books on Kindle tend to be cheaper than the hardback or paperback versions, so I got the app. It means I can read on the way to and from uni.

  12. Spotify Travelling and studying would be so boring without playlists. That’s why I have this on my phone, tablet and laptop. I have different playlists for different moods and times.

  13. YourCloset This app is a little different to the others but I love it because I can take pictures of my clothes, make new outfits and keep track of what I wear. If I never wear something then why keep it? It’ll just take up space in my drawers or wardrobe and I don’t want that.
