Hobbies? I don’t have time for them

A hobby is something you do in your free time for pleasure. So even if you can find 10 minutes of your day somewhere to sit and do something you like then you’re winning.
A hobby doesn’t need to take up much of your time, or space either. It can be however much you want it to. Mine tend to take up a bit of room thanks to thread and fabrics and designs ending up all over the place when I’m sewing but it started out so so small. I didn’t have my own sewing kit when I started. The very first time I did anything embroidery related I was in secondary school and then didn’t pick it back up until after my final year of university, now it’s become so much bigger because I’ve had the time, space and money to grow it.
With a hobby you’re spending time doing things you enjoy. It gives you a talking point with people too! You’ll meet new people, find new communities and maybe even travel to new places with it. There’s a world of opportunities for each hobby and it’s great to go out and find them.
You could try embroidery or sewing, taking up a musical instrument, learning a new language, learning how to use HTML, start a blog!
There’s so many things out there to try.
If you’re stuck for something to try since you’re not too confident starting something on your own then have a look in a local community / leisure centre to see what classes / opportunities are offered there. It’s a great place to start and from there you can branch out. Or try looking online for communities – I did that with my embroidery and have got great feedback from people when things haven’t gone exactly to plan.
Again, just 10 minutes. It doesn’t have to be every day. But if you’re doing a project then by the end of it you can look back and go “hey I did that”. Celebrate the little victories, we all need that from time to time.
