I'm always looking out for good, new, fun apps to use for things like habit tracking, organisation and self-improvement. This week I'm taking a look at Fabulous, the coach that uses insights from behavioural science to develop great habits that will enable you to live your best life, according to the Fabulous website.
So, this is my first time trying it out. My first thoughts are going to be below, what I like, what I'm not so keen on, what I'm wanting to see from it and how much I think I'll keep using it.

First Thoughts
I got to enter my name which immediately makes the app feel personal. It's not just a task manager or routine builder. I already feel motivated from this.
Then after you enter your name you get to select your gender. The reason I'm highlighting this step is because you have three options; male, female and nonbinary. This is a massive step forward and it's great to see an app like this including nonbinary instead of just M/F. Again, this made me more motivated to actually use the app since it looks like it's going to be inclusive.
The first "journey" or habit building step is to drink water every morning. This is something so simple yet manageable to start learning how to use the app, and working towards building better habits.
What I Like:
Simple yet interesting design makes the app pleasant to use
Starts out small and gradually builds up habits through using the app
Easy to see the progress being made
The challenges are fun and motivating
Free & Premium options

What I'm Not So Keen On:
While the design is simple it does take me a moment to work out where I need to click at times to get to the habits
Setting one time to do some of these habits makes it easy to ignore - I'm usually awake by 7am (unless I've had a late shift the night before) but sometimes I'm in work at that time.
I can't edit for the previous day if I've done the tasks but had forgot to check it off on the app meaning I lose my progress.
The routines are at the bottom of the home page, meaning I need to scroll past things I don't want to hear about before I get to them. It took me a long time to work out where these actually were
Will I continue To Use Fabulous?
Honestly? I'm not sure I will be. I've tried it now for a month and found it much easier to ignore than use. This might be just that it doesn't "click" with how I work and that's okay. One app will never suit everyone. I do feel like it would be good for a large amount of people and be very motivating, however my changing schedules and forgetting to check in every single day mean that it just isn't quite right for me
I would still recommend that you try it for yourself and see what you think though!
