Top 3 August Recommendations!

Since it's now August I thought I would give you some recommendations for the summer to enjoy it. Working hard, studying and learning are great but we also need to take time off.
I used to be someone who struggled to take time off. There's always something new and exciting I should be learning, or that needs doing so I just never slowed down. Summer break? Did you mean time to start on next years reading so I have more time to focus during class? Half term? The perfect opportunity to work on that essay and so on ....
I found I was burning out by the time I got to my MA degree, so, I thought I'd share some fun things today.
Mindfulness Bundles!
I am very lucky to know people who remind me to take breaks, who keep me grounded and focused on the important things in life like spending that extra minute in bed on days off, or enjoying sitting outside in the sun with a coffee and existing without that pressure of deadlines hanging over me.

One of these people makes amazing products over at JCS Creative Writing - Jane writes beautiful poetry, and also makes some brilliant products that I love and have inspired me to take that extra minute in the morning for myself.
I cannot recommend the mindfulness bundle enough for this. It's designed to relax you and create a mindful atmosphere wherever you are, something which I feel a lot of us need. Especially students.
If you'd like to visit her store in person then head over to The Violet Lily in Bishop Auckland in King's Cafe and Retail.
Calming Music
I am a massive fan of relaxing with music on in the background and one of the favourites I have at the moment is this playlist full of calm video game music made by @Konstantinos on Spotify.
It's great to have in the background while you're reading or painting or doing whatever else it is you do to relax. It's also a very long playlist (14 hours!) which means you can put it on shuffle and enjoy a very good mix throughout the day.
Games!
What better way to relax this summer than to play games when you're not outside enjoying the sun!
My favourite to relax at the moment is Stardew Valley - I have my little farm set up, enjoy spending a couple of hours each week playing the game and seeing how my chickens and cows are doing along with taking care of my crops. It's not stressful at all, and I always stop a few hours later feeling both relaxed and happy!

But, if you're looking for other games then I highly recommend the Gamershood Forums to find new ones along with people offering help if you get stuck.
I enjoy escape the room and riddle games - challenging enough to make up for the lack of focused learning content and also fun enough that I can spend entire days playing some of the series.
So, I hope that some of these recommendations have been useful to you and that there's something in here that can help you relax and enjoy the break!
